MARCH 10th IS THE DEADLINE TO APPEAL WILDFIRE HAZARD DESIGNATION
By now, you likely have received the packet of information sent by the OR Department of Forestry as aproperty owner with a tax lot(s) in our area that are designated as both high wildfire hazard and within the wildland-urban interface. These packets were sent by certified mail on Jan. 7.
In the packet, there was also information about how to appeal this pending decision. That deadline is next Monday, March 10th. If you are considering submitting an appeal, you can submit the form online and can be obtained at: https://www.oregon.gov/odf/fire/Pages/wildfire-hazard.aspx
To assist with questions about the hazard map designations and what it means to property owners, ODF has opened a call center to address commonly asked questions. This support line is just for questions on the hazard map and will be staffed Monday through Saturday from 6:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. PST until mid-March.
Please call 1-844-996-2259 for assistance on the hazard maps. If you have more detailed questions, please email them to hazardmap@odf.oregon.gov.
